THE FISHTAIL BRAID

You can call me Pocahontas. It took me awhile, but I finally learned how to do the fishtail braid. Everyone fell in love all over again with braids when the look was featured last year in  ALEXANDER WANG'S SPRING 2010 COLLECTION and the MISSONI SPRING 2010 COLLECTION. It's perfect for those days when you want to keep your hair out of your face... which is like everyday for me. Plus, it looks cute and it's something different than a ponytail. Try it out this Spring!

RAPHAEL VICENZI ILLUSTRATIONS

I love artists who can take different mediums of art and combine them to create something beautiful -- Everything clashes and yet, it all comes together at the same time. That's what art truly is to me: chaotic, unique, and non-conforming.

"Raphael Vicenzi,
aka Mydeadpony, is a self-taught artist from Belgium whose mixed-media illustration and watercolor techniques are influenced by fashion, street art and graffiti. Mixing digital media, painting and sketches and drawing on watercolors, splotches and textures, he creates immensely detailed images that are both meticulous and ethereal." - CYRIL FOIRET, on TRENDLAND

ERIN GO BRAGH

I'm a little upset that I'll be missing the traditional corned beef and potatoes for dinner... but I'll be out in London and possibly Toronto, celebrating that Irish Heritage I have in me ;)

Olivia Palermo in NYC - March 8, 2011

So long Skinnies, Flare is back for this Spring. I'm not gonna complain, they do make my legs look longer with the right pair of heels. Guess that means I'll have to buy some more shoes, ratsss...

Live the Language

So this is pretty cute and I'd say it sums up a basic French class. Directed by Gustav Johansson for Education First: Live the Language. This is actually part of a series of commercials; he also films scenes in LONDON, BARCELONA, and BEIJING. Check them out!

JOHN GALLIANO FALL 2011 RTW

Yes, ANOTHER post pertaining to Galliano. I just couldn't resist putting up some of the details from the show. Think pure luxury. Parisian chic from the 1920s to 1940s summarizes the entirety of the collection. But lest I forget the unusual, yet very familiar twist that Galliano seems to incorporate perfectly every time.

"Here, a pencil skirt with a forties flip was executed in ivory latex — an homage, perhaps, to the nocturnal denizens of this arrondissement that is at once raffiné and louche."
- Hamish Bowles, European Editor at Large for Vogue
