plums, bordeaux, cranberry, cognac and bourbon

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for Fall 2011 kicked off last night with The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection. The event's purpose was to raise awareness of women's heart disease, and how fitting with Valentine's Day just around the corner! Eve, Daina Ramirez, Audrina Partridge, Julianne Hough, Denise Richards, Dita von Teese, Giuliana Rancic, and a myriad of other celebrities showed up to strut down the runway in gorgeous scarlet dresses from a host of Fashion Week designers.

For those who are unable to fly out to New York and attend the shows for the next couple of weeks - let's say, a college student who is broke - I have a small treat for you. Thanks to New York Magazine and my superior web browsing, here is a list of some of the shows being streamed online:

SEE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS SHINE IN YOUR FACE

I warned you about my obsession with Drake, so here we go oh oh oh oh oh oh (Chiddy ref). One word:  s w a g .  I just can't get enough of this guy, from his gorgeous smile to his calm demeanor. Not only are his raps filled with wit, but the way he carries himself and how he speaks so charismatically just makes me melt all over the place. I actually found this short clip on his own blog a few days ago and that was when I discovered Jake Davis. He captures Drake's personality perfectly; no words, just actions, and only a minute long. It's just so raw and genuine. I love it.

I highly suggest you learn a little more about Jake Davis and his work with film , great stuff right there.

say what's real

it all starts with a song...

So I've decided to christen this spankin' new blog with something a little old (I hope you don't mind). I absolutely love Lykke Li; she is gorgeous, has great style, and a very unique sounding voice. Not to mention, I admire her for doing a photo shoot involving cigarette smoking; most women will do anything to conceal the fact that they smoke.

Breaking It Up and the popular single LITTLE BIT came off of her album Youth Novels in 2008. To add, Drake (take caution: I have an unhealthy obsession with him) does a great remix to it from his first mixtape, So Far Gone. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already!

hands down, I'm too proud for love
