Rihanna for Harper's Bazaar, August 2012

"I always tell the girls, never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. You never get hurt, you always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, you just go to the record store and visit your friends."
- Penny Lane, Almost Famous

"You want some respect? Go out there and get it for yourself." - Don Draper from Mad Men

[DIVERSE DESIGNS] CHRISTIAN DIOR, 1957

"What strikes me about this image is the maturity of the look of the models. Their faces say, 'I've seen a lot of the world, and I'm confident in my style, and I possess a sophistication and beauty that is enviable.' This is in stunning contrast to corresponding photo shoots today. Today's editorial models appear to be barely out of puberty. Their faces say, 'I've been to a few rock concerts, I use a lot of illegal substances, and the closest I come to a book is reading the wall on my Facebook page.' C'est la vie…" -Tim Gunn

"Do you know what I hate most about your world? Anything that is different you try to change. You try to tear it down."

Found my Halloween costume for next year.. Of course, I'll have to add more feathers to certain areas.

“More than anyone else in the city, he has the whole visual history of the last 40 or 50 years of New York. It’s the total scope of fashion in the life of New York.” - Oscar de la Renta

For decades, Bill Cunningham has contributed so much to the world of fashion and street photography. As a photographer and columnist for The New York Times, he is one of the first to make a career out of a rather simple task: following around and capturing unexpected moments of well known individuals in the industry. His work creates a chronicle history of fashion trends and styles through pictures. Not only has he photographed many celebrities and socialites, but also people that walk the streets of Manhattan every day.

I would love to see this documentary on him.. but as of right now, it's being played at Film Forum in New York :( I checked online and found out that it will be featured sometime in June (exact date unannounced) at the  DETROIT FILM THEATRE, which is also a part of The DIA. I always enjoy going over there from time to time. It's really not that bad of an area and I've found a lot of interesting places there (MOCAD, CASS CAFE, HEIDELBERG PROJECT). If you like art, I suggest you take some time off from your busy schedules and visit!

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss, consume: The sweetest honey
Is loathsome in his own deliciousness
And in the taste confounds the appetite:
Therefore love moderately; long love doth so;
Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow.

- Romeo + Juliet [Act 2, Scene 6]
